It was a usual morning like any other days and I was having coffee after my breakfast. While enjoying the coffee a shocking TV news turn my coffee into bitter taste and my mug slipped from my hand and fall into ground and shattered into pieces like my mind, “Jack LaLanee  – fitness guru dies at 96″. It is a great shocking news for millions of fitness conscious people. Jack has been advising people over fitness for the last couple of decades and became a celebrity.Jack LaLanee was widely regarded as a fitness guru who was able to millions of people to eat well, trim down, and push iron for about five decades before having meal and exercise. His reputation did spread across the globe and treat as a great national fitness obsession.He was an amazing ever green person. He never lost enthusiasm and interest for life. Once he joked that “I can’t afford to die”.  It would tarnish my fitness image.  His famous and favorite saying is “The only way you can hurt the body is not use it,”He made a mere fitness program so popular that kids did wake their mothers from  so called precious morning  and force them glue to the television set.  His exercise equipment was only a chair and a towel. It’s not joking. If you don’t believe me then watch his TV program in between 1950 and 1970.Jack LaLanee was a visionary man.  In 1936 he started a health studio that included weight-training for women and athletes.  It was time when people think physical exercise might misshape their body particularly athlete and women.He was able to perform more than 1,000 push-ups in 23 minutes at the age of forty three. At the age of sixty he did swim from famous Alcatraz Island to Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco with handcuffed, shackled and towing a boat. He did achieve the same feat ten years later. What a incredible performance!He never fear or afraid of aging. At sixty he feels like only twenty years of age. He said in 1990 that I never think about age. I am just me. The legendary man took physical exercise from gym to living room.Till his last breath he maintained a strict daily routine. He did spend two hours of weight lifting and one hour for swimming. He did emphasize on two things How long can you keep your breath and how long do you keep eating? Interestingly these two things belonged to him until his shocking but timely death.He was not only fitness freak but also a romance freak. He had very good relation with his fifty one years old wife “Elaine LaLanne”. After his death his wife was mourning and said “I have not only lost my husband     but also a dearest friend and most loving partner. He was a great icon indeed.Recently he had established a chain of fitness studios after his name. He was a strong advocate of raw fruits and vegetables. He introduced a power juicer called Jack LaLanne’s Power Juicer to promote fresh fruits and vegetables.I am a great fan of his. Even I use different stuffs that contain his image with sublimation.
